Card Deposits

Before you can deposit funds with a card for the first time, you are required to register the card with our Client Services by calling them on 020 7398 5269. Each new card needs to be registered in this way.

Below is a list of cards which Trendwatch will currently accept.

credit cards

Unfortunately for legal reasons Trendwatch are unable to accept cards where the issuing bank is situated in the United States. American cards such as American Express are NOT accepted.

Once your card has been registered by Client Services the details are saved to your personal Account. You will then be able to use our online deposit function to credit funds to your Trendwatch Trading Account. This function can only be accessed once you are logged into our Trading platform. To access the payment screen click on the Banking link at the top of the screen:

Banking Button

This will prompt a new screen which will show your card details as seen in the example below.
Payment

Select the card you wish to use and press.

Payment

You will then be asked to enter the security code (CVV) on the back of the card (these are the last 3 digits across the signature strip) and the amount that you wish to deposit. Once these details are entered you will be asked to confirm that the details are correct. Finally you will pass through SecureCard to authenticate your card. SecureCard is a system which issuing banks provide to ensure the card being used is linked to you. Should you forget the password for this function you will need to contact your issuing bank as Trendwatch cannot access this information.

Successful payments will appear on your account immediately. We suggest that you check your Transaction History or Account Balance directly after processing a payment. Your transaction will also appear on your weekly statement.

*Please note you will be subject to a 2% surcharge for Credit Cards.

Your card provider may treat these deposits as a cash advance. Therefore, you could be subject to charges/ daily cash advance limits. Please refer to your card provider for further information.

There is NO charge for Debit Cards.

Bank Transfers

To transfer funds via a bank transfer you will need to instruct your bank to make the transfer. Below are the details you will need to send funds. Please ensure that you transfer to the correct currency account otherwise you may be charged for any currency conversions. Bank transfers can take up to 3 days to be received at our bank. If you wish to speed this up you can ask your bank to send the funds via CHAPS, which is a guaranteed same day payment and should reach your account no later than 6pm that day. Your bank may charge for this service.

When transferring funds to our bank please ensure you clearly state your full name and your Account Number in your Payment Reference. Please also contact us as soon as possible via email to supply a copy of your bank receipt. Your account will be credited when the funds reach our bank account.

Cheques drawn in any currencies other than GBP or from a non-UK bank or a non-UK branch of a UK bank cannot be accepted.

Your account will normally be credited 7 days after receipt of your cheque to allow for clearance. In view of the clearance delay we would not recommend this as a regular method of funding your account.

Withdrawing Funds

To arrange a withdrawal of funds, please contact the Client Services team on 020 7398 5269 or by emailing enquiries@Trendwatch.com.

In order to help protect our clients against fraud, Trendwatch will only return funds by the same method in which they were received.

Withdrawals to Cards

Payments received by card will be returned to the original card from which the deposits were received. Please be advised that Card refunds take 3-5* working days to reach the bank account to which they are linked.

*Please note that on rare occasions card refunds can sometimes take up to 30 days to clear, this is very unusual but Trendwatch likes to keep their clients informed of that possibility. The reason for the unusually long delay is due to stringent bank security on large payments. We would suggest that clients break down larger refunds into smaller amounts to try and avoid the delay in refunding money.

Should your card be out of date you will be asked to provide more information. If the card is a renewal from the old one the 16 digit card number should still be the same so a refund will still be able to be processed once you have advised us of the new expiry date. If the 16 digit card number is completely different you will be asked for more information in the form of a bank statement showing your original payment to Trendwatch. The payment will then be processed and returned to you via a bank transfer.

Withdrawals via cheque

Trendwatch generally do not refund clients by cheque. If a cheque is received for a deposit we will record the bank details and return the funds to that bank account electronically.

Withdrawals by Bank Transfer

If the initial deposit to your Trendwatch Account was received via a bank transfer you will be required to send us proof of the original transfer. The details of your Bank Account will then be saved on your personal account for future use. Should we not receive proof of your initial deposit we will require a copy of your bank statement showing the original payment to Trendwatch. We ask for this information as UK banks do not keep originating bank details for their customers to view.

The following fees will generally apply:

  • UK 3 day sterling payment (BACS): FREE
  • UK same day sterling payment (CHAPS): above £5000 - FREE; Below £5000 - £15
